Big Rigs wrestled since 05/27/07
All my life I've wanted to drive a long haul truck.  See the country and get paid for it.  In April, 2006, I decided to make it happen.

Chattanooga State Technical College has a pretty good commercial truck driving school.  Seven weeks long and at the end, assuming one has acquired the requisite skills, one has his Class A CDL.

One of the nice things about Chattanooga State is that they offer a good placement service for their graduates.  They screen out the worst of the trucking companies and allow the better ones to come to the school to recruit.  I had lots of job offers even before I graduated.

As I write this I've been on the road for about 2 months and I'm lovin' it.  I've always had a little nomad in my blood and now it's expressing itself.

I don't have a lot of stuff on this page yet but as I travel around I'll be adding things so stay tuned.

---------------------

03/20/07  I turned in my truck a couple of days ago.  My company had turned me into a truck sitter instead of a truck driver.  I spent most of my last few weeks sitting instead of driving.  That doesn't make money for the company nor me.  This is probably going to be the end of my trucking career.  I have it out of my system now :-)

I don't want this to sound like it is ending on a sad note.  I had a ball most of the time.  I just wish it had lasted a little bit longer.  I still have a lot of materials to add to this page so stay tuned.

Be sure to REFRESH each page on this site as I'm adding content on a daily basis.

What happens when you combine 20 tons of loose steel in a box van (instead of a flatbed) and a ditzy Atlanta driver with a cellphone to her ear who just passed on the right, then cut in front and laid on the brakes.  Yep, some of those 500 lb rings are touching the tractor gangway.
From the same place the above rings came from.  Gigantic ball bearing inner race blanks.
CFI_Trucking_Promo.rar This is a promotional audio CD handed out by CFI trucking.  It outlines some of the better features of the company.  I'm not in any way affiliated with CFI.  I simply think this is a handy resource.  Ripped to 32kbps MP3. 2.98Mb
